Studying abroad is an exciting opportunity that allows you to expand your academic, personal, and cultural horizons, and any student who has earned at least 24 credit hours is eligible to take advantage of this experience.

While the process may feel overwhelming at first, especially if you have never studied abroad before, you are not expected to figure it out on your own. Getting started can be as simple as asking questions and seeking guidance. Reviewing the resources below is a great way to better understand the process, requirements, and timelines.

Your first step to your study abroad experience is to research programs that you are interested in. You would want to consider the following:
- How long you wish to study abroad.
- Which semester works best for your program and goals.
- Languages that you are comfortable learning in, and if you want to improve your language proficiency.
Consult with the professionals:
- Sit down with ·¬ÇÑÊÓÆµ's study abroad advisor to discuss your interests and make a plan.
- Schedule a meeting with your academic advisor to discuss your interest in studying abroad. You will need your advisor's approval to participate in a study abroad experience.
- Review the courses being offered and determine with your advisor how they will fit in your curriculum.
- Complete a Study Abroad Transfer Credit Request form.
- This form can be found on or in the Registrar's Office.

·¬ÇÑÊÓÆµ currently maintains partnerships with two of the most reputable study-abroad providers in the world - and . Both CIEE and API offer programs worldwide and coordinate all aspects of the experience, including academics, housing, and weekend excursions. The current arrangements with these two organizations also allow students to easily transfer credits towards their ·¬ÇÑÊÓÆµ degree programs and to use their current financial aid package towards the cost of the experience.

Study Abroad Cost
Program costs vary by destination and provider; please refer to the specific program page for a detailed breakdown of expenses and what is included in the program fee.
Financial Aid
Most federal, state, and institutional financial aid can be used toward education abroad programs, and many merit scholarships are also applicable. Financial aid is disbursed on the first day of the university’s fall, spring, or summer semester, regardless of your program’s start date. Plan to cover any upfront expenses, e.g., airfare, visa fees, and deposits, before your financial aid is released.
Scholarships
Additional scholarships might be available. You can find information about scholarship opportunities on the main information page of your intended program. Deadlines are strict for these scholarships.
Vaccinations and Health Screenings
You may be required to receive specific vaccinations or health screenings before arriving at your destination. Visit the database for country-specific health and safety information.
Health Insurance
You are required to have international medical insurance. Some programs include this benefit in their package. Look into your program to understand your responsibility for medical and accident coverage.
